Reverse lens macro of 50 cent coin
I took this photo to demonstrate the reversed lens macro technique with my Pentax istDL camera. Basically I removed the lens from the body and turned the lens around and held it in front of the camera much like a magnifying glass. I then spent a few seconds focusing and clicked the photo. The risks associated with this technique is that there is the chance you could get dust inside the camera which could fall on the sensor and cause 'dust bunnies'. I'm hoping to buy a reverse lens adapter which will hold the lens in place whilst reversed.
When I downloaded this photo from the memory card tonight I wasn't very impressed - until i did a white balance adjustment. One of the cons of the reversed lens technique is that your image is almost always darker than a standard macro but thanks to Adobe Photoshop I am very pleased with the result!
